Film Expo South – Film Festival 2025

Film Expo South is proud to launch the first pilot Short Film Festival, bringing the very best of local and independent filmmaking to audiences across Dorset, Hampshire, and Cornwall.

This exciting festival will showcase an ensemble of short films from talented local filmmakers, writers, and producers, with screenings hosted in unique community venues – from village halls and arts centres to museums and cultural spaces.

At the heart of the festival are the winners of our 2025 Short Film Script Competition:

• Merry Christmas Bill by Lindsey May Sharp – Winner, Drama Category

• Headless Turkey by John Cooney – Winner, Comedy Category

• Naughty or Nice by Amy Rich – Winner, Children’s Category

Alongside these prize-winning scripts, our programme will feature a rich variety of independent shorts, shining a spotlight on the creative voices and unique stories of the South Coast film community.
